INSTITUTE FOR DEVELOPMENT AND INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY
ABOUT
The Insitute for Development and International Solidarity IDIS is an NGO with an international vocation and a laboratory of ideas. It was born from a group of social science researchers and development aid practitioners wishing to reflect on political and social transformations in the Mediterranean basin countries.
IDIS works primarily to promote activities with a social and humanitarian mission in the fields of international assistance and development aid. Its sphere of action is deployed in the Afro-Mediterranean region and in Europe, among other locations. The fundamental goal is to serve human development by working to reduce poverty and its causes, promoting the lasting strengthening of democracy and peace. Its activities are based on an integrated and inclusive approach to development and solidary.
From this perspective, IDIS acts directly in the field or with other organizations, all the while favoring existing local structures, education and training programs, access to clean water, sanitation, and renewable energy. IDIS conducts programs dedicated to international migration fighting against all forms of exclusion, inequality, and discrimination by promoting and participating in development projects in areas where immigration originates.
